Are You A Mouse Scrapper??

Do you love Disney?  Did you take tons of pictures on your trip and now you need to create a whole bunch of Disney layouts?  Do you need some inspiration about how to arrange a layout for Mickey, Pluto or Cinderella?  Then the perfect place for you to check out is Mousescrappers HERE - it's totally dedicated to Disney scrapping!!  They host a HUGE gallery of Disney layouts and thankfully they are organized by characters, by theme parks and by events.  So it's super easy to find some examples of just the layouts you're looking for.  They also host a few challenges.  Template challenges are held weekly and start on Saturdays.  Weekly challenges start on Wednesdays and usually have a fabulous participation prize.  Speed scraps are 2-3 times a month.  It's a very positive place with lots of good vibes and helpful folks.

Here are my layouts from last week and this week's template challenge.  They really made you think about photo placement and paper color matching.

And here's my layout for the weekly challenge which I made using Natalie's Place Design kit called 'You've Got A Friend In Me'.  Great for layouts of the Toy Story gang.

I'm getting closer to finishing up my June 2009 Disney trip scrapbook.  I've got a few parades left to scrap and then all the Star Wars Weekend pictures.  So I'm actively searching for some great Star Wars kits.  Leave me a comment if you have some good suggestions.

Pirate Layouts & Template Freebie #2

I finally finished up some pirate layouts:  one layout for meeting Captain Hook and Mr. Smee and another layout for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  So let me show you what I made...

First I used Kellybell Designs' 'Off To NeverLand' kit and her matching 'NeverLand Word Art' kit to work on the Captain Hook layout.  The elements in this kit are really cool.  I love the building silhouettes and the pixie dust trail, plus some rich brown/green/red papers.  Sometimes finding the right kit can really help get your imagination going -- and this kit helped my pictures become a little bit more lively.  Hook had his hand out waving so I placed the sword element in his hand mixed in with all the pixie dust.  Some layouts you like more than others, and this one I DO like!!

Next for the POTC ride, I used Kellybell's 'Yo Ho Yo Ho' kit and the 'Word Art Sampler' kit for the title.  My boys are huge Jack Sparrow fans so this ride is a must-do every trip.  You just can't get enough Jack Sparrow!!

You can purchase any of Kellybell's kit over at her store HERE.

Now, onto another template freebie.  I make a template from my Crystal Palace layout.  I liked the simpleness of the 4 photos and the fun of the wavy shape.  Have fun with it!!

Having Fun With Natalie's Kits - Layouts and A Freebie

Good evening!!  I've been having fun experimenting with Natalie's Place Designs' kits.  So let me share with you some fun kits and the layouts I created.  First, MouseScrappers hosted a speed scrap on Monday.  It was a pretty hard one -- speed scraps tend to make me stressed!!  I used Natalie's kit called 'Just Another Big Cheese', great for scrapping Mickey and other classic characters.  Here's what I came up with for the speed scrap:

'Give Me Liberty' is a kit targeted for Liberty Square and anything 4th of July related.  I thought it was a great match for my Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner.  It's so sad that Disney stopped having this character meal.  The character interaction was the best... but the food, well it was just OK.

And last, if you've been to Japan at Epcot's World Showcase or you've experienced Pick-A-Pearl, then 'Konnichiwa' is what you'll need to scrap those layouts.  I've got boys, so they are not really interested in anything girly, so we'll probably never get a chance to pick out a pearl.  But we have strolled through Japan which has some wonderful buildings.

You can grab these kits along with some fun freebies over at Natalie's Place Design blog HERE.  Of course, I've got a little freebie for you too from the 'Give Me Liberty' kit.

Newest Member of Kellybell Designs Creative Team!!

Yipee!! I'm just so super excited to be the newest member of Kellybell Designs' Creative Team. She is a fabulous designer and makes the most stunning Disney inspired kits. Check out her blog to see all her wonderful design. Today she is announcing a new kit called 'Fairest In The Land'.  It's full of richly colored papers, lots of elements, and a pretty blue alpha. There's also a matching set of 5 Word Art. While it's primarily designed for Snow White layouts, I thought it was also perfect for Lilo & Stitch, Baloo, and the Ohana Character Breakfast.  You can grab her kit  HERE at Kellybell Designs store.

Isn't it wonderful??  Here are 2 layouts I made with The Fairest In The Land kit:

She's got an adorable Snow White Word Art Freebie that you can grab HERE on her blog.

Since I thought this was perfect for Stitch layouts, I also used the blue alpha to create an adorable Stitch Word Art Freebie for you. Enjoy!  Leave me some love and let me know what you think.

Template FREEBIE #1

I love using templates to get my layouts started.  My favorites are templates that have many pictures, especially pictures that are in portrait mode.  I seem to take many, many more photos that way.  Today I'm excited to share my first freebie, which of course is a template.  Let me know what you think.

Here are 2 layouts for inspiration, one from Cape May Cafe, the second from Garden Grill.

Happy scrapping!!

Some Recent Layouts

My current scrap project is our Walt Disney World trip on June 2009.  We went for 9 nights and were there for Star Wars Weekends (a huge favorite of my 2 boys).  We did almost every character meal and saw tons of characters.  So far I've scrapped 38 pages and have probably 40 more to go.  I joined the Mousescrapper forum and that has been a fabulous place for me to learn some new techniques, see lots of disney layouts, and to participate in challenges.  I've scrapped several of the character meals, here are a few layouts using some great multi-picture templates from Irene O'Neill.

Donald's Safari Breakfast:

1900 Park Fare breakfast:

All the layouts are in my Mousescrappers gallery where you can find the credits.  Next I'll try to share a template freebie I made from a few character meal layouts.  Have a great day!

First Post on The New Blog!!

Yipee!  I'm so excited to have my new blog set up.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.  I purchased a blogwear kit called 'Daisy Crazy' from Trixie Scraps, made a few edits, read her installation directions, and shazam, my blog was installed.  Pretty cool!  I've been using Photoshop Elements 7.0 and I'm still learning a lot about scrapping techniques.  I thought I would share some layouts, some tips that I've learned along the way, and share some template freebies (since that's the only thing I know how to make right now!!).

Stay tuned!!
